Martins Ferry Mows Down Fairland

Martins Ferry, Ohio - Dom Bopp and Trevor Bruney each scored two touchdowns to power Martins Ferry to a 56-6 win over Fairland in the Ohio Division IV high school playoffs Saturday night.
Bopp caught TD passes of 35 and 51 yards from Ryan Church. Bruney's TD runs covered 12 and 46 yards as the Purple Raiders improved to 9-2. The Dragons finished 7-4.
Bruney finished with 172 yards on 20 carries. C.J. Stewart led Fairland with 51 yards on 13 attempts.
Bopp caught 7 passes for 190 yards. In first downs Martins Ferry had a 25-10 edge.
"Martins Ferry was a better team." Fairland coach Bryan Ward said. "The effort was there. We just didn't execute. Martins Ferry is going to go a long way in the playoffs."
