Wrestling March 2-6

Following last week, Hunter Brewer is going further into the tournament, and Blaine Cremeans will be Hunter’s alternate. This weekend will be the District Tournament. Rhiyder Slone qualified for the District Meet and will be going this following weekend.

Boys' Basketball @ Convo

The Fairland Boys' Basketball team competed in the District Semifinals against South Point on Sunday, March 1st. This Friday, March 6th, the boys will be playing Chesapeake at the Convo for the title of District Champions and to advance to the regional semifinals.

Bowling

The Fairland High School’s bowling team member Trenton Fuller has had a great season. After playing in many tournaments, Trenton made it all the way to the State Bowling Tournament and came in 33rd place of 200. He had a great season overall and ended on a good note.

Girls' Basketball End

Girls' Basketball Feb. 10-14

The Girls' Basketball Team has their last home and regular season game tonight, February 10, against Ironton. On Wednesday, they play their first tournament game against Pourtsmouth West at Jackson High School. Come out and support!

Girls' Basketball Jan. 27-31

The Girls’ Basketball team has been really exciting to watch this week. Their last game was Thursday where they faced the Gallia Blue Angels. They won that game 45 to 33. The girls travel to Chesapeake tonight to take on the Panthers. Good luck Dragons!

Boys' Basketball Jan. 27-31

The Boys’ Basketball team has been pretty strong this year. With only the second of the season, they lost to Gallia Tuesday night. The Dragons plan to take on the Chesapeake Panthers Friday night.

Wrestling Jan. 13-17

As of right now, Hunter Brewer and Blaine Cremeans have over 100 wins. Rhyder Slone and Blaine Cremeans hace lost only 3 times and Hunter Brewer only 4; however, they have only lost to ranked competitors. Hunter beat the fifth-best wrestler in West Virginia. The Dragons tied with Spring Valley at their last meet. The next meet for the Dragons will be a big one at Alexander High School. Also, on January 24th and 25th, the Dragons will wrestle at the Huntington Civic Center and would love for people to come out and support!

Girls' Basketball Jan. 13-17

The Fairland Girls' Basketball team has been on the struggle-bus this year but are fighting through it. Currently, their record is 7-9. They lost to South Point on Monday. Coach Buchanan is training the girls to reach their best potential. Come this Thursday the 16th to watch the girls and support them when the play Portsmouth!

Boys' Basketball Jan. 13-17

The Boys' Basketball team remains undefeated within the OVC. After the win over Ironton on Tuesday, January 14th, they await Coal Grove this Friday, January 17th. Come and watch your Dragons!

Boys' Basketball Dec. 16-20

Last week, the Dragons’ participated in the Big E Classic. In the classic, they faced the South Webster Jeeps and won with a score of 61-51. This week, the Dragons faced Portsmouth and came out with a win. They will face Huntington High Thursday night and play to the best of their ability. Good luck, boys!

Girls' Basketball Dec. 16-20

The girls’ basketball team played Chesapeake on monday and won. Friday they play in Columbus, and they play on Saturday in Rio Grande. They're already off to a great start!

HS Wrestling Dec. 9- Dec.13

Fairland High School’s Wrestling team had their first tournament this past weekend. They placed 2nd overall in the tournament. The team had four first-place finishers, one third-place finisher, and three fifth-place finishers. The team goes to Ashland this upcoming weekend for their second tournament. Also, in their first tournament, Hunter Brewer had his 100th win, and Blaine Cremeans is expected to get his 100th win this weekend at Ashland. The wrestling team is starting off pretty strong, and we hope it keeps going well.

Girls' Basketball Dec. 9- Dec. 12

Basketball season has officially started! The girls beat Portsmouth Monday 63-16. The girls also had an exciting win over South Point last Thursday. They are 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the OVC. The girls are off to a great start!

Girls' Basketball Dec. 2- Dec.6

Last Saturday, the girls traveled to Canton to play Massillon Tuslaw to start the season. They unfortunately lost by 11. Monday, the girls traveled to Coal Grove and played a very tough game, but they ended up losing by one point. Come support them this Thursday, December 5th at home against South Point. 

Boys' Basketball Dec. 2-Dec. 6

The FHS Boys' basketball last Saturday played at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, and our boys won 59-50. This Saturday, December 7th, the team has a scrimmage at Spring Valley, at 11 AM. Good luck, Dragons!

Indoor Track

With winter approaching, fall sports are coming to a close. Indoor track is now on its third day of training with Chuck Wentz as the coach. This is a good alternative to train this winter to prepare for track season this spring.

HS Wrestling Intro

The FHS Wrestling team started workouts last week, and tryouts are coming soon. Please see Mr. Wentz for morer information. We wish the team the best of luck this season!

HS Basketball Intro

Basketball season is right right around the corner! Basketball tryouts are Friday, October 25th, and our boys try out on November 1st! We are all hoping for an awesome season. Go Dragons!

HS Football Oct.28-Nov. 1

The Fairland Football team plays school rival, Chesapeake. This whole week, students have been anticipating the matchup with fun spirit week dress up days. Friday night also brings Senior night for the football players. The team's chances of making the post season is not very hig, but we are still proud of them for all of their hard work!

HS Football Oct. 21-25

The Football team will play the Coal Grove Hornets on Friday the 25th. Next week, the Dragons face against the Panthers for Senior night and spirit week. Eleven seniors will be honored on that night. The Dragons still have hope at playing in the playoffs. 

HS Volleyball Oct. 21-25

The FHS Volleyball team finished off their season on Tuesday, October 22nd. They took home twelve conference wins, which is the most conference wins in Fairland history. They ended their season as sectional champs. Good job, girls!

HS Girls' Soccer Oct. 14-18

The Girls' Soccer team finished their season on Tuesday, October 15th. They were 5th seed and lost in the sectional tournament to Ironton St.Joe. They hope to have a better season next year. Good job, ladies!

HS Football Oct. 14-18

The Fairland Football team went up against South Point on Friday, October 11th. The Dragons brought home a victory with a final score of 52-13. The team is taking on Pourtsmouth at home on Friday, October 18th. Come support the Dragons!

HS Boys' Soccer Oct. 14-18

On Saturday, October 12th, the Boys' Soccer team played in the sectional semi-finals against Zane Trace. They lost 1-0 in a hard-fought game where the Dragons controlled the team for most of the game. We're proud of you, boys!

HS Volleyball Oct. 14-18

The Fairland Volleyball team recently defeated the South Point Pointers to make themselves OVC runner-up. The Dragon broke the record for most OVC wins in a season. The team faces off against South Point yet again for their first tournament game. Good luck, girls!

Homecoming Football Game

The Fairland Football team played Gallia for their homecoming game. They suffered a tough loss of 28-0. The theme for the student section was a green out. The Dragons' upcoming game is away at South Point on October 11. Hopefully, they will pull away with a win.

HS Volleyball Oct. 7-11

This past week, the Lady Dragons Volleyball team faced Gallia, where they suffered a heartbreaking loss to lose the OVC title. We are still extremely proud of their hard work this season. Winning their final game against South Point, the team secured the most OVC wins in Fairland history as well! We're proud of our players!

HS Girls' Soccer Oct. 7-11

On Monday, October 7, the FHS Girls' Soccer team played Portsmouth West and won 2-1. So far, the girls' record is 3-9. Their next game is October 8 against Gallia for Senior Night. The Lady Dragons are 5th seed in the Southeastern district, and they play Ironton St.Joe October 15 for sectionals. Good job, girls!
 

HS Boys' Soccer Oct. 7-11

On Tuesday, October 9th, the Fairland Boys' Soccer team faced off against the Gallia Blue Devils. After a long, faught half and a goal by Adam Marcum, the Dragons were up 1-0. During the second half, Gallia scored a penalty and two more goals. The final score was 3-1. The Dragons' four seniors, Wade Brown, Mason Fannin, Xavier Veltri, and Ethan Stevenson were recognized before the game, as this was their senior night. The team looks to face Zane Trace this weekend and move on to face Wheelersburg for the sectional semi-finals.

Cross Country Oct.7-11

The Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams will run in the OVC meet at Rock Hill Saturday, October 12. The girls are hoping to bring home the 13th straight OVC win, and the boys are hoping to start their own streak of wins. Both teams have been practicing hard. We wish them the best of luck!

HS Football Oct.7-11

This week, the Fairland Dragons Football team play the South Point Pointers. There are only four games left in the season after this week. Hopefully, the Dragons make it in the playoffs and continue their season.However, the Dragons need to focus on one game at a time and buckle down to beat the Pointers.

HS Girls' Soccer Sept. 30- Oct. 4

Tuesday, the Lady Dragons play Ironton St. Joe for their sectional game. They played Gallia this past Tuesday on their senior night. They took a slight loss of 5-1. Come out and support our girls Tuesday at 5 PM! Go Dragons!

HS Boys' Soccer Sept. 30- Oct. 4

The Dragons played a tough streak of soccer games this week. The FHS boys play the Rock Hill Redmen at home on Tuesday night. The Dragons came out on top in a hard fought battle, winning 2-1. On Thursday, the Dragons traveled to Ironton St.Joe, where they suffered a 6-0 loss. Next week, the Dragons have a Senior Night against Gallia on Tuesday. Good luck, boys!

HS Golf Sept. 30- Oct. 4

The Fairland Boys' Golf team came up short by six strokes at the District tournament. However, Girls' player Hanna Shrout qualified for the state tournament for the third time in a row. We are so proud of all of our golf players. Good luck Hannah!

HS Girls' Soccer Sept. 23-27

The FHS Girls' Soccer team is having a great season this year. Last Saturday, the team lost to Spring Valley 4-2, but they bounced back for the next game. The girls are coming off a win against Chesapeake even after suffering injuries. Friday, they will play Huntington St. Joe for the opposing team's homecoming game. Let's go girls!

HS Boys' Soccer Sept. 23-27

This past weekend, the Fairland Boys played a tough game vs. Spring Valley. The final score was 5-1. On Tuesday, the Dragons faced the Panthers at Fairland's Concrete Palace. After the Panthers scored two goals, the Dragons matched with two goals of their own. The match ended in a draw; however, the boys would not go unnoticed Thursday, as they defeated Portsmouth 12-2. They will compete against Rock Hill at home on Tuesday, October 1st. Good luck, Dragons!

HS Golf Sept. 23-27

This year's Fairland High School golf team has received many great accomplishments. The boys recently won sectionals and will be heading to districts on October 2nd. Clayton Thomas won the Overall Boys' sectionals as well. Coming in as OVC Champs and 4th in Sectionals, the girls' season has come to an end. Hannah Shrout ended her senior season in 1st for the girls' sectionals. Overall, the golf teams have made great advances this season!

HS Volleyball Sept. 23-27

As of now, the Fairland High School volleyball team is ranked 2nd in the conference with an OVC record of 7-1. The girls played a tense and fierce match this past Thursday against Ironton and came out with a win! Their one goal is to become the OVC champions, and they definitely have a shot at it!

HS Football Sept. 23-27

This Friday, September 27th, the Fairland Dragons play the Rock Hill Redskins at home. The OVC game starts at 7:00 at the Concrete Palace. Come and cheer on the Dragons!

Cross Country Sept. 23-27

The Cross Country team had a big meet this past Saturday. The Girls' team placed 10th, and the Boys' placed 14th. Ethan Lafon, a Senior runner, placed 2nd out of 174 runners. Emma Marshall, a Junior racer, placed 23rd out of 123 runners. The Cross Country team races again this Saturday, September 28 at Shawnee State. 

HS Volleyball Sept. 16-20

On Monday, September 16th, the JV and Varsity Volleyball team won against Green High School. The JV won 2 out of 3 set, while varsity won 3 out of 5. The next game, this past Friday, Fairland won big again! Congrats to our Dragons!

HS Football Sept. 16-20

Fairland's high school Football team played Ironton last week. They took a tough defeat, but they aren't hanging their heads! The team is well prepared for their upcoming game against Waverly at home. Defeating Waverly is key to succeeding in the playoffs. Come out and support the Dragons!

HS Golf Sept. 16-20

The Fairland High School Golf Team has been on a roll recently, leading on the boys' undefeated season. The OVC Championship is approaching soon, and the girls are heading in on their first conference win. Needless to say, the Dragons are in the green this season!

Cross Country Sept. 16-20

Last week, the XC team was in action at Ironton. Emma Marshall placed 4th, Olivia Lewis placed 5th, Emily Carrico placed 11th, Izzy Dudley placed 30th, Abbe Kiritsy placed 31st, Katie Fleming placed 33rd, and Alli Penix placed 41st. Overall, the girls' team got second place, losing by just 3 points.

HS Boys' Soccer Sept. 16-20

The Boys' Soccer team is hoping to turn around a rough start to the season now that their team is healthy once again. The Dragons suffered a 1-0 loss in a tough battle at South Point on Tuesday night. The team travels to Spring Valley for their next game on Saturday, the 21st. Currently, there are plenty of games to snatch redemption for recent losses, and we wish our dragons the best of luck!

HS Girls' Soccer Sept. 16-20

The Fairland High School Girls' Soccer team has had their ups and downs recently. The team is in possession of a small number of wins and puts up a great fight, however. Head Coach Mark Chafin is preparing them for upcoming games in the meantime. They are 2-3 in the OVC and are hoping to succeed in winning the OVC Championship.

HS Football Sept. 2-6

Friday, August 30th, the football team beat Tolsia 34-12. This Friday, they will bw playing at Oak Hill. So far, the Varsity Record is 1-0 and JV is 0-1. Let's go Dragons!

HS Volleyball Sept. 2-6

This past week, Bailey Roland received her 1000th assist, in additon to the winning record they have achieved in the conference. The FHS Volleyball teams are off to a great start this season!

HS Girls' Soccer Sept. 2-6

The FHS Womens' Soccer team won both their games last week. They played Chesapeake on August 27th and won 5-0. They also played against South Point on the 29th and won 3-1. They are scheduled to play Rock Hill this Tuesday and Gallia this Thursday. Come out and support your Lady Dragons!

Cross Country Oct. 14-18

 Cross Country has been very successful this past season. The girls placed 3rd in the OVC with Emma Marshall and Olivia Lewis getting 1st team all-conference and Emily Carrico getting a special mention. The boys placed 2nd in the OVC with Ethan Lafon getting 1st team all-conference and Ben Matton getting a special mention. XC Districts is this Saturday, October 19, at Rio Grande. Congrats, Dragons!

HS Golf Sept. 2-6

The FHS Golf team is currently one of the most successful teams at Fairland. They are currently undefeated and have a well-balanced team to boot. Clayton Thomas is one of these players, and he shot a 37 at Sugarwood on September 4th. Their next match is next Tuesday at Gallia. We're proud of our Dragons!

HS Boys' Soccer Sept. 2-6

 On Tuesday, September 3rd, the FHS Boys' Soccer team lost to Rock Hill after a hard-fought battle, 5-0. They will face Gallia away on Thursday and at Minford on Saturday. Senior captain Mason Fannin awaits his return after suffering a broken wrist during a scrimmage at Russell. We wish him a full recovery, and good luck to the Dragons!
