Cross Country Week 3

The Cross Country Boys’ and Girls’ teams had a meet on Saturday at Portsmouth. Walker Pannell finished in 43rd place. In the girls race, Emma Marshall finished in 21st place, Emma Marshall finished in 24th place, Emily Carrico finished in 24th place, Abbe Kiritsy finished in 52nd place, and Zoie Weinsweig finished in 56th place. Tonight is Senior Night, and The Early Bird meet that was supposed to be in August at Fairland.

JV Football Week 3

The Fairland High School Boys’ Soccer team played Rock Hill on Tuesday the 6th. They unfortunately lost 2-0 to the Redmen. On Thursday, the boys will face the Gallia Academy Blue Devils.

Volleyball Week 4

The FHS Volleyball team defeated Green and Rock Hill last week. Next week, the girls take on South Point and Ironton. The team is looking to improve on its 3rd place standing in the OVC.

Football Week 4

The Fairland Football team played against Rock Hill. The team beat Rock Hill 42-6. Fairland Dragons are in the play-offs with the 3rd seed in the region. Go Dragons!

Boys' Soccer Week 3

The Fairland High School Boys’ Soccer team played Rock Hill on Tuesday the 6th. They unfortunately lost 2-0 to the Redmen. On Thursday, the boys will face the Gallia Academy Blue Devils.

Golf Week 4

The Fairland Golf team won the OHIO Valley Conference by 14 strokes. Soon after, the team went on to win the sectional title by 12 strokes. The team is back in action on Wednesday, October 7 at Crown Hill Golf Club.

Girls' Soccer Week 4

The Girls’ Soccer Team lost to St. Joe on Saturday, October 3. They lost 3-1. The girls play Rock Hill on Tuesday. Go Dragons!

Cheer Week 3

The FHS Cheerleaders continue to support the football team. As the team continues to play, the girls are always standing on the sidelines, trying to look past the changes due to Covid-19. The Seniors are upset about the limit to games, but, luckily, the football team is predicted to make it far through play-offs.

JV Football Week 2

The JV Football team has played 4 games this season. They have not won a game as they are 0-4. This Monday, 9/28, they will play Galia at home. Go Dragons!

Girls' Golf Week 1

The Girls’ Golf team played in the sectional match Monday, September 28. They will compete in the OVC on Thursday, October 1. Good Luck ladies!

Boys' Soccer Week 1

The Boys’ Soccer team took a painful loss against Gallia losing 8-0. On top of this, one of their players, Jace Casella, broke his collarbone. Hopefully, the next time they play they can keep their heads on straight and come back with a win.

Volleyball Week 3

The FHS Lady Dragons lost to Portsmouth last night. They went to 5 sets and it was a very close, exciting game. They have only lost 2 games so far this season. Great job ladies!

Girls' Soccer Week 3

Fairland’s High School Girls’ Soccer team is 2-1-2 as of right now in the OVC. The team has lost their past few games to great teams that are not in the OVC. The girls will face Chesapeake on Thursday 10/1 at Fairland.

Boys' Soccer Week 3

The Fairland High School Boys’ Soccer team played Portsmouth at home on Tuesday, September 29th. It was a rough first half due to the rain and missing players, but the boys pulled out a 3-1 win in the second half. Good job Dragons!

Golf Week 3

Yesterday, the Boys’ Golf team won Sectionals against Chesapeake, Wheelersburg, Gallia, and others. Clayton Thomas shot a 71, Landon Roberts shot a 74, Cameron Mayo shot a 82, and Kyle Slone shot a 88.

Cross Country Week 2

The Girl’s Cross Country Team got 5th place at Southeastern. Emma Marshall placed 18th, Emily Carrico placed 31st, and Elizabeth Carrico placed 39th. Their next meet is Shawnee State on Saturday, October 3rd. Go Dragons!

Volleyball Week 2

On Thursday, September 10th, the Dragon’s Volleyball team played the Gallia Blue Devils. The Dragons lost 3-0. The next game will be on September 15th against the South Point Pointers.

Cheerleading Week 2

The Girls’ Golf team played in the sectional match Monday, September 28. They will compete in the OVC on Thursday, October 1. Good Luck ladies!

Golf Week 2

The Fairland Golf team recently defeated the Chesapeake Panthers by five strokes. Landon Roberts led the Dragons with a 41. The Dragons have the OVC tournament on the 25th of September at Elks Country Club. Go Dragons!

Football Week 3

The Varsity High School Football Team is 4-1, with wins over Chesapeake, Coal Grove, Portsmouth, and South Point. They go into this week playing Rock Hill, then go to the playoffs. Good Luck Dragons!!

Football Week 2

Last Friday, on September 11, the Varsity Football team beat the Portsmouth Trojans 34-6. The Dragons are now 3-0 in the conference. This week, they will be playing the South Point Pointers at home.

The Girls' Soccer team beat the South Point Pointers last night. The girls won 1-0. Next week, the team plays Wheelersburg. Go Dragons!

Girls' Soccer Week 1

The Girls’ Soccer team is 1-1 right now, beating Chesapeake 9-0 and losing to Rock Hill 3-1. Overall, they have a pretty good team with a few complications that can and will easily be fixed. With hard work and time, they should have a good season this year.

Volleyball Week 1

On September 1, 2020 the Volleyball team had its Senior night. Due to COVID-19, the first home game was Senior night. The FHS Dragons played the Portsmouth Trojans. The Dragons beat Portsmouth in four sets. Madi Wilson and Abbe Kiritsy are the only Seniors this year playing Varsity Volleyball.

Cheerleading Week 1

The FHS Cheerleading team had tryouts July 13, and practice started in August. The Varsity Cheerleading team consists of 6 Seniors, 3 Juniors, 4 Sophomores, and 2 Freshmen. The JV team has 6 Freshmen. The JV games are on Monday night and the Varsity team cheers on Friday nights.

The Fairland High School Golf team is going to Cliffside Golf Course to play against Gallia and Chesapeake. Both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams will be playing in this match. Good Luck Dragons!

Boys' Soccer Week 1

The Fairland High School Boys’ Soccer team played Rock Hill September 8th. In honor of Leukemia Awareness Month, the team wore orange jerseys, socks, and wristbands for the game. The game was hard fought, and the Dragons unfortunately lost 4-3 to the Redmen.

Cross Country Week 1

XC Boys’ and Girls’ teams competed at Galia Academy and the Fairland Run by the River. Unfortunately, neither team has enough people to place, but there were some strong individual performances, such as Emma Marshall’s 9th place finish at Fairland. The Cross team competes again this week at Southeastern.

Football Week 1

The Football team played Coal Grove at home last Friday, September 4, and won 27-21. They are playing at Portsmouth this Friday, September 11. Good luck, Dragons!

JV Football 1

The JV Football team lost to Coal Grove 22-13. The team played well, with Brycen Hunt having six tackles and an interception. The boys played well but ultimately came up short on the score board. Let’s get ‘em next time Dragons!

Boys' Soccer Final

Fairland’s Boys’ Soccer team had a heartbreaking end to the season. After a week with no practice due to COVID-19, the Dragons played Piketon. After a long first and second half, the score was 1-1. Two rounds of 15 minute overtime were played. No goals for either team. The Dragons lost in the tie-breaker penalty kicks. We’re so proud of our Dragons for their amazing season!

Volleyball Final

This week, the volleyball team lost to South Point and Gallia Academy. The Dragons went to five sets when playing both games and ended up losing. The seniors Madi Wilson and Abbe Kiritsy played their final games of their high school career. They were both great games to watch.

Girls' Soccer Final

The Girl’s Soccer team won their first sectional game since 2018. The team played Piketon and the final score was 1-0. The girls lost the sectional championship to the number one seed. The final score was 8-0. Overall, the Girl’s Soccer team had a great season.

Football Playoffs 1

The Fairland High School football team came off a 41-6 play-off win, the first in school history. The team played Nelsonville-York and won on a field goal to go into the fourth round of the playoffs. The boys (and girl) play Coal Grove in the Sweet 16 on Saturday at 7.

Cross Country Final

Saturday, October 24, the Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams competed in the District meet. At this meet, the girls wrapped up their season, but they still ran great. Most of the boys finished as well, except Benjamin Mahan. He had a 45 second PR and advanced to the Regional meet this Saturday, October 31st. Good luck Ben!

Football Final

The Fairland Football team played the #1 seed Fort Frye in the Regional Finals game and lost. The team made school history winning its first playoff game and making it to the Elite 8. Even though our Dragons lost, they had an amazing season. Good job!
