Kindergarten Orientation Information


Reading

 

    We will be reviewing the letter sounds long i and long a..  

   Our decodable book this week is “Mike and Spike.” 

   Our new words are:  they & down.

    We will continue the new Reading Drops in a Bucket.

 

High-Frequency Words

 

      Please continue to practice List #3.  I will check them again the week of  March 11th

     They must maintain an “A” on high-frequency words to continue reading books for ribbons.   

   There will be a cut-off date– so please keep reading to help us reach our goal of

    100 books !!

 

Dictation

   Our dictation will consist of  9 sounds and 3 words and a sentence. 

 

Math

    We will continue Math Drops in a Bucket.  These are getting more difficult.  

  We will work on Chapter 9 on classifying objects.  

Writing

    We have read many cool books on “Dental Health.”            

 

  

Writing

   Students may bring in Dr. Seuss books this week.  We will beginning reading them all week. 

   We will do many different “DR. SEUSS” writings this week as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday (March 2). 

 

Science

    We will complete our unit on “Taking Care of Our Body.”  

    We will learn about germs.
