Winter Sports

Boys' Basketball Week 1

The Boy’s Basketball team will have tryouts Friday and Saturday. Their first game is on the 27th at Mason HIgh School against Aiken High School. They scrimmage North Adams the 14th at North Adams High School.

Boys' Basketball Week 2

The Fairland Basketball team will be led by JD Thacker and Aiden Porter. The first game has already been canceled due to Covid-19 concerns. The coaching staff is constantly attempting to host teams at the Carl York Gymnasium. Please refer to the school website for fan attendance of the upcoming games.

Cheer Week 1

As football season concluded, the FHS Cheerleading team will rest up and be back for basketball. The girls continue to prepare for the upcoming season and provide school spirit. They will start to convert sidelines from football to basketball and find new ways to raise school spirit.

JV Basketball 1

Finally, JV basketball season has begun for the Dragons. The JV team played its first game against Piketon on Thursday. The team won 61-10. The boys’ next game is Saturday against Zane Trace.

Cheer Week 2

The Fairland High School Cheerleaders are back in action this week. They have learned two new cheers. Senior night is Saturday, December 12th. They will only be attending home games.

Girls' Basketball Week 1

The Girls’ Basketball team played Coal Grove last Monday and won, the team is 1-0. Their last game at Gallia on Thursday has been canceled. THey now play at home Friday, and at Portsmouth Notre Dame Saturday. Good Luck Ladies!

Boys' Basketball Week 3

The boys play Coal Grove Tuesday, Dec. 8. They also play Fort Frye Dec. 12 on Saturday. Come out and support your Dragons!

Baseball Start

After the recent Covid case, the Baseball Team has started back to its regular routine; lifting, conditioning, and doing as much as they possibly can before the season. The Dragons should be poised for a big 20-21 season with a lot of youth ready to step up.

Powerlifting

Powerlifting has started up. The team’s first meet is in February at South Point. We hope to see you all there to support.

Boys Basketball Week 4

The Dragons in the past week and a half have been on a roll beating their rivals 82-39 and then a division three opponent Eastern Brown 49-48. That was a huge win for the Dragons as that brought them up to ten in the recent AP polls. Along with all those wins, the Dragons added another Tuesday night against conference opponent 69-48.

JV Basketball 2

The JV and Varsity played Tuesday night @ Gallia. The JV team won, advancing to 9-0 on the season. Their next game is Friday at Coal Grove.

Girls' Basketball 2

The Girls’ Basketball team played South Point on Monday and won 49-41, making them 8-1. They play at Rock Hill Wednesday, at Portsmouth Thursday, and at home on Saturday. Good luck, Lady Dragons!

Futsal

For the past two weeks, Futsal did not take place. This is, in part, due to COVID restrictions as well as Christmas Break. Players are excited to return soon.

Girls' Basketball 3

The Lady Dragons played Zane Trace on Monday, January 14. They won 64-36. The girls will play Gallia on Thursday at home. Go Dragons!

Baseball

Currently the baseball team is lifting and throwing every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Due to COVID regulations every player has to wear masks during practice.

Boys' Basketball 5

The boys basketball team knocked off South Point at home Saturday to claim at least a share of their 6th consecutive OVC title. The Dragons will look to claim the full title this week with a win at home against Gallia. The Dragons will also play Portsmouth on Friday.

JV Boys' Basketball 3

The JV basketball team is undefeated in this year’s season. Tonight they will play their last game of the season against Gallia. Go Dragons! Beat those Blue Devils!

Powerlifting 2

Fairland’s powerlifting team recently placed first overall at the Piketon meet. They are preparing for the upcoming meet at Coal Grove this Saturday.

Power lifting Final

The State Powerlifting meet was last Saturday. The boys finished 1st overall and the girls third overall. The awards banquet is this Friday to recognize everyone that placed.
