Information for Cheerleading Tryouts

We would like to congratulate Tanya Adkins on being named the new cheerleading coach at Fairland High School. Below is information for cheerleading tryouts:

Practice for tryout number 1 - Wednesday, June 12 - 11:30 to 1:30 at Fairland West Gym

Practice for tryout number 1 - Thursday, June 13 - 11:30 to 1:30 at Fairland West Gym

Tryout number 1 - Friday, June 14 - 10:00 am at Fairland High School - Carl York Center

Practice for tryout number 2 - Wednesday, June 19 - 11:30 to 1:30 at Fairland West Gym

Practice for tryout number 2 - Thursday, June 20 - 11:30 to 1:30 at Fairland West Gym

Tryout number 2 - Friday, June 21 - 10:00 am at Fairland High School - Carl York Center

Girls will only be required to attend one of the tryout sessions. For any questions please call the school at 886-3250.

Fairland Volleyball Camp 2013
Fairland Volleyball Camp 2013. July 25 - 26, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Grades 3 - 6 (entering 6th grade) Cost $25.00 includes t-shirt, $40.00 (for 2 in a family). Location - FMS. Camp director - Missy Gorby, 7th Grade Volleyball Coach. Camp sponsored by: Fairland Athletic Boosters.

2013 Fairland Lady Dragons Basketball Camp
2013 Fairland Lady Dragons Basketball Camp. June 3 - 6 from 9:00 a.m. till noon. Grades 1-8 from 8:15 - 9:00 a.m. Cost: $35.00 per camper, $60.00 2 in family. Includes camp t-shirt. Make checks payable to: Fairland Athletic Boosters. Camp Director: Jon Buchanan, head girls coach FHS.

Local Report Card Released
The Ohio Department of Education released the 2011-2012 State Report Card today and the Fairland Local School District has earned an "EXCELLENT" rating!! Our district met all 26 indicators!!

Friends of Fairland Raising Money for Scholarships
Friends of Fairland is an organization made up of Fairland alumni, parents, and members of the Fairland community interested in helping our students attend college affordably. We will be selling raffle tickets at each home football and basketball game this year to raise funds for scholarships for the Class of 2013. The cost of each ticket is $20. Tickets can be purchased at any home football game or you may call Fairland High School for additional details. The grand prize is a brand new Kia Rio or $10,000 cash. Second prize is $1,000 cash. All proceeds go directly to fund scholarships for Fairland students. Thank you for supporting Friends of Fairland and the students of the Fairland School District.

The Friends of Fairland will be holding regular meetings on the 3rd Monday of every month at 7:30 in room 153 at Fairland High School. If anyone is interested in learning more about the organization, please feel free to attend one of the meetings.

Fairland High School Recognized by The Ohio Academy of Science

The Ohio Academy of Science sponsors the Ohio State Science Day each year in Columbus. Students are able to qualify for the State Science Day by participating in local and regional science fairs. The Ohio Academy of Science keeps track of how many students from each school in the state of Ohio are represented each year, and those numbers are released annually to recognize and honor the top schools in Ohio. From 1996 to 2012, 887 schools in Ohio participated in the State Science Day. Out of those 887 schools, Fairland High School ranks #11 in the state for total number of participants. This is a tremendous honor for Fairland High School and our community. We would like to congratulate the students and staff at Fairland High School for such an outstanding accomplishment!

Fairland High School presents the school newspaper, Dragon's Breath. You will be able to keep updated on Fairland sports, entertainment, student section events, and community issues. We are currently in the building process, we ask you to check back frequently to check our progress.

Not only do you have the ability to have school payments automatically withdrawn electronically from your checking account or charged to your credit card, you also have the flexibility to pay at anytime through the school's website.
