Letter and Information for Fairland Families

Dear Families,

I want to take a moment to share how incredibly proud I am of our students, staff, and community. Each day, I see the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm that define our schools, and it’s exciting to see what we've built together.

Our schools are more than just places of learning; they are avenues of creativity, growth, and community spirit. From the achievements of our students in academics, sports, and the arts, to the efforts of our teachers and support staff, there is so much to celebrate. We are continuing to build a bright future for our community, and our schools are at the heart of it all.

I firmly believe that our schools are strongest when families are involved.  Your involvement makes a difference.  Your support at home and your participation in school events play a crucial role in shaping your child’s educational experience. When families and schools work together, students thrive.  That’s why I invite you to become more involved in our schools . You don’t need to have a lot of time to make a difference—a little goes a long way!   Whether it’s joining the PTO, Academic Boosters, volunteering for school activities, simply supporting your child’s learning at home, or attending parent-teacher conferences, everything you do matters.

A parent-teacher conference is a great opportunity to:  share academic progress and growth, as our teachers and staff  learn from parents or guardians so we can be better informed about students' strengths, needs, behaviors, and learning styles.  Also, discuss strategies to support students' learning and discuss issues that may be interfering with students' learning, growth and development.  If you haven’t scheduled a PTC for the fall, check with your child’s teacher for available times.

I encourage you to keep up to date with what’s happening at school by reading information that comes home,  attending meetings, following your child’s schools’ social media accounts, and downloading our (FLSD) app. Our app is a great way to stay connected. You can find information and  directions on our website.  www.fairland.k12.oh.us

I hope you take pride in everything we are accomplishing together. Whether it’s through a recent academic success, a sports victory, or a community service project, our students are doing incredible things, and it’s thanks to the support and engagement of families like yours.  Your children, our students need to see a healthy relationship between the school and your family.   If there is not mutual respect for our teachers and school it hurts your children first and foremost, but our teachers and staff suffer as well.  Our teachers give 100% and deserve to be treated with kindness.  We aren’t perfect,  but we don’t have anyone that works here that doesn’t go above and beyond to make sure student needs are met, plus a whole lot more. I’d love to hear from you.

I will set aside time to listen to you and learn more about: What do you value about education in our district? How do you determine if we are meeting your child’s educational needs?  Where are we meeting or exceeding your expectations?  Where are the opportunities for growth? Reach out to schedule an appointment.  740-886-3100

Sincerely,

Roni Hayes
