First Grade Newsletter

March 2 – March 6

Reading

We will learn about /aw/ and /ow/.  We will continue reading stories about “Animals From Head to Toe”.  We will read the story “Grow Ladybug Grow” & “Just Like My Mother”.  Our comprehension test on these stories will be on Friday. Reading Logs are due on Monday, March 2^nd.       

Math

We will continue Chapter 7 “Organize and Use Graphs”. The lessons will be “Make Picture Graphs”, “Read Picture Graphs”, “Make Bar Graphs”, and “Read Bar Graphs”. We will also be doing calendar. The skills that we are covering are month, day of the week, telling time, counting money, place value, two digit addition and subtraction with regrouping. 

Science

We will read and discuss books about “Animals From Head to Toe”. 

Social Studies

We will be reading books written by Dr. Seuss.
